The good old times..
Howdy blogppz,
So guys seriously, have you ever really thought back abt the time that you were around 6 or 7 years of age? And you would have small responsibilities such as having to clean your room, making sure you clean your plate, be home on time... but really thats abt it, right?
I mean, no serious big responsbilities or real bounderies. Simply cause there were no bills waiting for you at home or you would have to worry abt study results coming in or having to take care that you come on time at work or any other appointment.
In childhood, you don't have nearly as many commitments as you do when you're an adult. When you're a child, the worst thing that could happen as a result of one of your screwups is being grounded. When you're an adult, the worst thing that could happen is you get sued for millions of dollars, and are forced to a live the rest of your life homeless.
I think the majority would agree that childhood is the best time, simply coz your being taken care of and you dont have to worry abt life basically. Maybe its that precise reason why we want to become millionaires or win the lottery, so we can have also a life less of commitmens and responsibilities, in which we dont have to worry much...
But yet we have to keep in mind that there are in fact children of around 6 or 7 years of age that DO have to worry abt those stuff and aren't that fortunate to have their moms or dads waiting for them, think abt war zones or really poor countries or children that are orphans... so in a way they were kind of forced into becoming young adults and by having those responsibilities(thinking abt meals etc), and never really experienced what it's like to be a child!
Oh well, anywyz I think that the majority, of you guys that think back would think with great times back to your childhood... me and ma best friend Dilek, came across some old cartoons we use to watch and it just maked me feel young again... it brought me back to times in where I came home from school, and all I had to do is, sit, ma mom would come and bring me my lunch, and all I had to do is focus on the cartoon and make sure I finish my plate. And when my food was done my mom would come and take ma plate, put my coat on and bring me back to school... but at that time you just would take all of those things for granted ? why ? coz you dont have to think abt getting food on your table or any other commitment... yea indeed life was easy during childhood...
ironically though, when you are around 16 you can't wait to become an adult and you go like: wait mom and dad, till im 18, then ill make ma own choices.. I can vote, I can drive a car, you get to see when your 18 all the nice 'rights' where you have longed for while being a child, and so I think longing back to your childhood comes at a later age/stadium in your life, where you realize that having rights....also means you have responsibilities....
Anyhow, so wut are the disadvantages than from being a child? some may argue it would have to be that your freedom is limited in a way. Because your freedom mostly depends on your parent's mood at the time. You have to listen to them. Adults on the other hand who are over 18 can do what their parents can do, and legally can make their own choices and seem to have more freedom than a child does.
So What time is the best?
Maybe theres no point of answering that question coz different periods in your life hold different experiences, and it is hard to compare these. Coz both stages...seem to be just as important to become succesful.
Which will bring me to Erik Eriksons theory in the next post....
